  • Cleaner finished look - Positions the enclosure as part of a premium indoor golf room, not just a net or loose screen.
  • Setup path clarity - Keeps buyers focused on width, height, depth, screen material, and mounting fit instead of guessing.
  • Expert enclosure fit help - Call or text (855) 718-4560 and Golf Sim Genies will help confirm sizing, screen fit, and room layout before you buy.

Carl's Place DIY enclosure kit room fit

Confirm enclosure size, screen path, and room clearance

Use this compact guide to see what the enclosure path includes, what is still optional, and which room measurements should be checked before checkout.

What this product is for

The DIY enclosure kit is for buyers who want a flexible Carl's Place screen-and-enclosure path and are comfortable sourcing or selecting the pipe path separately.

Core equipment included

  • BlackStop enclosure
  • Selected golf impact screen with cable
  • Ball bungees, releasable zip ties, and cable receivers
  • 1 inch frame fittings
  • Cut sheet and assembly instructions

How to use this page

Choose the enclosure size and screen material that match the room, then add only the pipe, mat, projector, launch monitor, or accessory items your setup actually needs.

What you configure above

Use the builder and options above to finalize size, screen material, pipe path, and optional accessories that match the room.

Add only what the setup needs

  • Add the pipe framing kit if you do not want to source and cut 1 inch EMT locally.
  • Add optional Safety Baffles (sold separately) only when the room plan needs high-angle shot protection.
  • Add mat, projector, launch monitor, turf, computer, or install/service items only when selected separately.

Not included unless selected

  • 1 inch EMT pipe unless a pipe kit is selected
  • Hitting mat or putting turf
  • Projector, mount, or cable upgrades
  • Launch monitor, software, or simulator computer
  • Back cover, foam inserts, Optional Safety Baffles (sold separately), and net wall extensions unless selected
  • Installation or custom service unless selected

These are only included when selected above or clearly listed on this product page.

Room-fit checklist

  • Plan at least 10 ft from tee to impact screen.
  • Keep 12-16 in of free space behind the screen.
  • Allow 2-3 in of buffer above and on each side of the enclosure.

Planning note

Measure the finished room, not just the desired screen size. Confirm swing clearance, enclosure outside dimensions, screen distance, and rear screen clearance.

Best room fit

Best for home simulator rooms where the buyer wants flexible sizing and can either source 1 inch EMT locally or add the pre-cut pipe kit.

Confirm outer frame height, width, depth, rear clearance, side/top buffer, tee distance, screen material, and whether you need the pipe kit before checkout.

General specs

Frame type 1 inch EMT frame path
Minimum frame 96 in H x 96 in W x 24 in D
Maximum frame 124.75 in H x 163.33 in W x 59.125 in D
Screen materials Standard, Preferred, Premium, or High-Contrast Gray
Rear clearance 12-16 in recommended behind screen
Room buffer 2-3 in on sides and top

How to use these specs

Specs describe the enclosure path. Screen material, pipe kits, projector placement, turf, launch monitor placement, and computer needs should still be confirmed for the final room plan.

Shipping, support, and returns

Carl's Place items can ship in multiple cartons, and some larger or freight items may require lift-gate planning. Return eligibility can vary by product condition, custom sizing, and whether the item has been opened or installed.

Ask before checkout

Contact Golf Sim Genies before checkout if any room measurement, custom size, freight need, or accessory compatibility is unclear.

Carl's Place DIY Enclosure Kit with Impact Screen

Use this enclosure page to confirm the bay footprint, screen or net choice, protection needs, and any separate simulator components you plan to pair with it.

  • Room clearance: Plan for safe swing space, at least 10 feet from tee to impact screen, and 12-16 inches of clear space behind the screen when using an impact screen.
  • Frame buffer: DIY and PRO enclosures need 2-3 inches of buffer on the sides and top; Curved enclosures need 2-3 inches on the sides and about 6 inches above.
  • Setup care: Use clean, unscuffed white golf balls and clean clubs to help protect the screen surface and reduce avoidable marks.

Achieve a flawless floor-to-turf visual experience during your indoor golf sessions!

The Carl's Place DIY C-Series Golf Simulator Enclosure Kits, featuring an impact screen that seamlessly extends to the floor. Crafted with Carl's Place BlackStop™ material and connector fittings, these kits guarantee a smooth and hassle-free setup process. We'll tell you which pipes you need. Alternatively, you can just add the Pipe Framing Kit for an effortless, all-in-one solution to create your home golf enclosure.

What's Included

Your Choice of Impact Screen: Take your pick from our Standard, Preferred, Premium, or High-Contrast Gray screens: four materials, each crafted to deliver a seamless floor-to-turf image with minimal bounceback. Your screen is cut and finished for the exact enclosure size you select, with 4 to 8 inches of black masking across the top to hold your aspect ratio.

  • Standard Golf Impact Screen: the entry material. A sensible choice for a first simulator or a lighter-use room.
  • Preferred Golf Impact Screen: best value for home and light commercial use. Noticeably smoother texture than Standard, with tightly woven fibers for a better HD picture.
  • Premium Golf Impact Screen: three layers of heavy-duty, tight-knit impact-resistant polyester. Quiets the noise of the ball strike and delivers the best image quality. This is the screen Carl's builds into their Pro and Curved kits.
  • High-Contrast Gray Impact Screen: the same triple-layer build as Premium, but it absorbs more light for deeper blacks, richer color, and better contrast. The right pick for a room you cannot fully darken.

Not sure which to choose? Carl's offers a sample pack so you can see and feel the difference. Call (855) 718-4560 and we'll help you match the material to your room and projector.

BlackStop Enclosure: This tough enclosure not only shades the screen for optimal brightness but also creates a safe hitting bay environment, preventing any stray shots from damaging your walls.

Steel Fittings: Included in the DIY Golf Simulator Enclosure Kit are the essential corner fittings for easy pipe connection. Pipes are sold separately.

Ball Bungees and Zip Ties: We provide all the necessary fasteners to securely attach your screen to the frame. Additionally, you'll receive extra options, such as releasable zip ties and 6" and 9" ball bungees, allowing you to customize the tension based on your swing style and preferences. Adjust for the perfect balance between tension and slack, depending on factors like proximity to the screen, ball speed, club choice, and spin rates.

Size, Depth & Room Fit

All six sizes share the same depth, 5 ft from the impact screen to the front of the frame. Depth is not a selectable option on this enclosure line, which is why the size selector shows height and width only.

Two depth numbers matter, and they are not the same. Depth is 5 ft, the enclosure body. Footprint depth is 6 ft once the rear backset fitting is included. Measure your room against the footprint depth; that is the floor space the enclosure actually consumes.

Listing size (H x W) Aspect ratio Viewable screen (H x W) Outer frame (H x W) Depth Footprint depth
7.7 ft x 10 ft 4:3 6 ft 11 in x 9 ft 3 in 8 ft 0 in x 10 ft 5 in 4 ft 11 in 5 ft 7 in
7.7 ft x 13 ft 16:9 7 ft 0 in x 12 ft 5 in 8 ft 0 in x 13 ft 7 in 4 ft 11 in 5 ft 7 in
8 ft x 8 ft 1:1 7 ft 2 in x 7 ft 2 in 8 ft 4 in x 8 ft 4 in 4 ft 11 in 5 ft 7 in
8 ft x 10.5 ft 4:3 7 ft 3 in x 9 ft 8 in 8 ft 4 in x 10 ft 10 in 4 ft 11 in 5 ft 7 in
8.5 ft x 11.5 ft 4:3 7 ft 11 in x 10 ft 6 in 9 ft 0 in x 11 ft 8 in 4 ft 11 in 5 ft 7 in
9 ft x 12 ft 4:3 8 ft 3 in x 11 ft 0 in 9 ft 4 in x 12 ft 2 in 4 ft 11 in 5 ft 7 in

We round to 5 ft and 6 ft in the copy above for readability. The table shows the measured figures to the inch, use those if your room is tight.

Listing size is shorthand, not a measurement. An 8 ft x 8 ft enclosure is really an 8 ft 4 in x 8 ft 4 in frame with a 7 ft 2 in x 7 ft 2 in viewable screen. If your room is tight, plan against the outer frame and footprint depth columns above, never the listing size. Figures are rounded to the nearest inch from Carl's Place DIY Golf Simulator Enclosure Kit Specifications sheet; the recommended buffer below more than covers the rounding.

Clearance to allow:

  • Above: 2 to 3 inches between the outer frame height and your ceiling.
  • Sides: 2 to 3 inches per side, so 4 to 6 inches of total width beyond the outer frame.
  • Behind the screen: roughly 8 inches is the hard minimum for the rear fitting; 12 inches is recommended so the material can stretch freely. Anything touching the back of the screen causes friction and premature wear.
  • Tee to screen: at least 10 feet. This is Carl's requirement, both for golfer safety and to keep the screen from wearing out early.

As a room baseline: 15 ft of depth minimum (18 to 20 ft recommended), 8 ft 6 in ceiling minimum (9 to 10 ft recommended), and a 14 ft wide room if you want right- and left-handed golfers playing from a centered position.

Not sure which size fits? Send your room width, depth, and ceiling height to support@golfsimgenies.com or call (855) 718-4560 and one of our simulation specialists will confirm the right size before you order.

Optional Accessories

Pipe Framing Kit: While the Pipe Framing Kit is optional, the pipes needed to construct your frame are essential. We'll guide you on the exact 1-inch EMT required, available at any local hardware store. Alternatively, opt for our add-on kit, including pre-cut pipes for hassle-free assembly.

Net Wall Extensions: Shield your enclosure walls without sacrificing space. Our net wall extensions offer an additional barrier against stray balls, easily attached with hook and loop strips. A sandbag base ensures stability (fill not included). Sold as a pair.

Foam Insert Kit: Ensure safety and peace of mind with memory foam cushions, precisely designed to fit behind the screen flaps of your DIY Golf Simulator Enclosure.

Optional Safety Baffles (sold separately): Tackle high wedge shots with ceiling baffles, now compatible with Carl’s DIY enclosure.

Back Cover Kit and Back Cover Pipe Kit: Eliminate light leakage for superior image quality and enhance the enclosure's appearance with our back cover kits. Opt for pre-cut pipes or receive guidance on sourcing and cutting your own.
